    A photo taken from just short of the Wisconsin Central Railroad Lift Bridge with Northern Elevator A in the left background with the steamer FLINT & PERE MARQUETTE #2 alongside of it. Behind the smokestack of elevator A can be seen the warehouses of the Wisconsin Central Railroad, which burned in the 1940's. The warehouses and carferry dock was put in when the railroad entered Manitowoc in 1896.

    View of the Chicago & North Western Railway Yards at Manitowoc with the Goodrich steamer VIRGINIA on the right. The steamer in the background at left is most likely Goodrich's steamer ATLANTA beside the coal docks which were torn down in the fall of 1898. During the demolition process, a worker named Simon Scheinoha fell from the structure, broke his back, and died in November 1898. Alongside the ATLANTA is the Goodrich tug ARCTIC. Circa 1897.
