Collection of maritime photographs and negatives from Sturgeon Bay Boat Works, estate of Robert Krauss (Father of the donor). Robert Krauss died August 11, 1999. He was employed at the Kewaunee Shipbuilding and Engineering Corporation in the early 1940s when the photos were taken. In 1945 or 1946 he started his own boat building company called "Krauss Kraft." He built two ferry boats for Washington Island. He worked with Walter Haertel, a naval architect from Sturgeon Bay, WI. |
