Provenance |
A plaque almost identical this one was originally attached to the museum's circa 1910 Morse 1A diving pump (A69-32-1) but was lost sometime before donation (according to photos from 1969). The outline of the plaque is still visible on the pump. DESCO Corporation of Milwaukee acquired Morse Diving in 2016 and was able to use the A.J. Morse & Son archives to capture and 3D print one of these plaques to create a mold and cast new brass plaques. This plaque had minor imperfections and was rejected by the buyer. Bill Pelky works for DESCO and got permission from the president Richard Koellner to donate this extra plaque to WMM. |
