Provenance |
The pins belonged to donor's father Harold Heide (1895-1991) who worked for many years at Manitowoc Shipbuilding. "He worked on the submarines starting with Peto. I used to deliver his lunch bucket to him at work. I believe he was a riveter, working on the hulls. Later after the war, he worked on a giant lathe in the engineering dept..... I remember him wearing the pins and the identification badge as he left home each morning for work." |
