According to donors, model of submarine was made by a PETO crewmember while he waited for construction to finish. Model was given to the Westfield Bar in Manitowoc, where it was displayed for years. Donor Leon's uncle tended bar there and when no one wanted it, he brought it home. It was in the basement of Leon's parents for over 50 years. |
