Description |
Mark I, Model I periscope camera and case from the submarine USS COBIA. The case is made of wood and covered in dark green canvas material coated with some type of dark green paint, the handles are missing and there is a plaque on the top of the lid that reads "U.S. Navy-Bureau of Ships Carry case for Sub Periscope still Camera 35 mm." The corners are covered in metal and the top latches down to the base, inside the case attached to the case lid is a contents list and a chart that gives the correct diopter settings for periscope cameras for the USS COBIA 245. The camera body is black with silver dials and lense attachment, serial number s-85-164, a brown leather strap, the back side of the camera has a WARNING plaque which gives 6 (six) steps on operating the camera, 3 dials on top of the camera-wind dial, rewind dial, & number dial 0-35. Circa 1942. |
