Description |
Dark blue lighthouse keeper’s coat, double breasted. Made of wool, with 8 brass lighthouse buttons. Each lapel has a patch sewn on it that features a gold braided cord with a number "3" in the center, signifying the wearer was a lighthouse keeper, third class. The buttons indicate the uniform dates to the time of the U.S. Lighthouse Service and to the period after about 1910. The uniform was worn by James H. Hopson, who was in lighthouse service from 1930 to 1952. |
