Provenance |
The IOWA was crushed in the ice on February 4, 1915 near the Chicago harbor. Passengers and crew walked on the ice to shore. The remains are located abut a mile east and slightly north of Navy Pier in Lake Michigan. Divers discovered the wreck in the 1970s and recovered sinks, door locks, port holes, silver table service pieces, and dozens of other items. |
